Author Guideline
Journal of Adab and Islamic Civilization
Prospective authors who wish to publish their articles in the Journal of Adab and Islamic Civilization are advised to read the About the Journal and Author Guidelines pages to understand the journal’s policies and submission procedures. To submit a manuscript, authors must register on the journal system or, if already registered, log in and follow the five-step submission process.
In general, submitted articles must be original works that have not been published in any form—print, electronic, or digital—in other journals. Manuscripts must align with the journal’s focus and scope. Articles with a plagiarism level above 20% will not be processed. Authors are therefore required to check the similarity level using reputable software such as Turnitin before submission.
The manuscript format must adhere to the following criteria: Times New Roman font, 12 pt for the main text, 10 pt for footnotes and references; 1.5 line spacing throughout the text except for direct quotations longer than 40 words, which should be single-spaced; and 2.5 cm margins on all sides. Article length should range between 5,000 to 7,000 words, including abstract, keywords, figures, tables, and references.
The manuscript structure must include:
-
Title – concise and clear, maximum 15 words, without uncommon abbreviations.
-
Abstract – includes objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusions; 150–250 words in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
-
Keywords – 3 to 5 terms relevant to the topic.
-
Introduction – provides background, research questions, research objectives, and scientific contribution.
-
Research Methods – explains the research design, data collection, and analysis techniques in detail to ensure replicability.
-
Results and Discussion – presents data objectively, relates findings to theories and previous research, and discusses practical or policy implications.
-
Conclusion – summarizes the key findings and offers recommendations for future research.
-
References – must follow the APA 7th Edition citation style, prioritizing reputable sources such as SINTA, Scopus, or other accredited international journals, with a focus on references published within the last five years.
Figures and tables must be sequentially numbered and clearly captioned. Images must be at least 300 dpi resolution and embedded directly within the text. Tables should be well-formatted, easy to read, and titled above each table.
All submitted manuscripts will undergo a peer-review process by at least two experts in the relevant field. Review outcomes may include: acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor revisions, major revisions required, or rejection. Authors must revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback within the specified timeframe.
Authors are expected to uphold publication ethics, including avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, and data manipulation. Any conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of the research must be disclosed. For manuscripts with multiple authors, the contribution of each author must be clearly stated.
Submissions must be made through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Authors must create an account to access the submission system.
Articles accepted for publication are subject to Article Processing Charges (APC), the amount of which will be communicated upon acceptance. The journal offers APC waivers or discounts for authors from developing countries or articles that meet specific criteria.
If required, authors must provide supporting data or supplementary materials in accessible formats that can be reviewed and verified by the editors, reviewers, or readers.
All articles published in this journal are available in open access, allowing the wider public to access and utilize research findings without financial barriers—reflecting the journal's commitment to the dissemination of knowledge.
