Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to publish in Innovate: Innovation in Teaching and Learning are strongly encouraged to first review the About Us section and the Author Guidelines to understand the journal’s policies and submission procedures. To submit a manuscript, authors must register with the journal’s online system. Once registered, authors can log in and follow the five-step submission process.

Submitted articles must be original works that have not been published elsewhere in any form, whether print or digital. Manuscripts should align with the focus and scope of the journal. Submissions with a similarity index exceeding 20% will not be considered for review. Therefore, authors are advised to check for similarity using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin before uploading their manuscripts.

Manuscripts must be formatted using Times New Roman font, size 12 for the main body and size 10 for footnotes and references. Line spacing should be 1.5 throughout the main text, except for quotations exceeding 40 words, which should be single-spaced. Document margins should be set to 2.5 cm on all sides. Article length should range between 5,000 and 7,000 words, including abstract, keywords, tables, figures, and references.

The manuscript structure should include:

  • Title: concise and informative, no more than 15 words, avoiding uncommon abbreviations.

  • Abstract: includes background, objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions; written in both Indonesian and English; 150–250 words.

  • Keywords: 3–5 main terms representing the article’s content.

  • Introduction: presents the context, research problem, objectives, and scholarly contribution.

  • Methods: outlines the research design, data collection, and analysis techniques in detail.

  • Results and Discussion: presents findings and critically analyzes them with reference to existing theories and studies.

  • Conclusion and Recommendations: summarizes key findings and offers directions for future research.

  • References: follow APA 7th Edition style, prioritizing high-quality, reputable sources from the last five years.

Tables and figures must be sequentially numbered and include clear captions. Images must be embedded in the text and have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Tables should be neatly formatted with titles placed above.

Each manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review process by at least two experts in the relevant field. Review outcomes may include acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor or major revisions, or rejection. Authors must revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ feedback within the specified timeframe.

Authors are expected to adhere to the highest standards of publication ethics, avoiding misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation. Any potential conflicts of interest must be clearly disclosed. For articles with multiple authors, each author’s contribution must be transparently stated.

Manuscript submissions are managed via the journal’s online platform (OJS). Authors are required to create an account prior to submission.

Accepted manuscripts are subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC), the amount of which will be communicated upon acceptance. Innovate offers APC waivers or discounts for authors from developing countries or those whose articles meet certain criteria.

Upon request, authors must provide supporting data or supplementary materials for verification by editors, reviewers, or readers.

All published articles are available through open access, ensuring that research findings can be freely accessed by a global audience, in line with the journal’s commitment to the broad dissemination of innovative research in teaching and learning.
