IMPLEMENTASI NILAI-NILAI KEARIFAN LOKAL DALAM PENGUATAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER SISWA DI MADRASAH ALIYAH

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of local wisdom values in strengthening character education of students in Madrasah Aliyah. The background of this research is based on the weakening of moral values among the younger generation due to the increasingly massive influence of globalization and modernization. The research aims to describe and analyze the forms of implementation of local wisdom as a foundation for student character formation. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach in three Madrasah Aliyah in Lampung Province. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that local wisdom values such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, and cultural etiquette can significantly strengthen students' religious, honest, and disciplined character. The conclusion of the study affirms that the integration of local wisdom in the madrasah curriculum is an effective strategy in building students' character that is morally noble and culturally identified.
