PERAN KEARIFAN LOKAL LAMPUNG DALAM PENGEMBANGAN BUDAYA SEKOLAH DAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PESERTA DIDIK

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental pillar in shaping a young generation with noble morals and national identity. Lampung local wisdom, reflected in the philosophy of piil pesenggiri and its four elements, contains noble values relevant as a basis for character formation. This study aims to analyze the role of Lampung local wisdom in developing school culture and character education of students. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method in three elementary schools in Central Lampung. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results show that the integration of Lampung local wisdom into school curricula and habituation programs significantly enhances students' values of mutual cooperation, honesty, and responsibility. It is concluded that Lampung local wisdom has great potential as a source of values in building a characterful and sustainable school culture.
