Abstract

The era of global disruption, marked by the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and digital transformation, has posed fundamental challenges to the Islamic education system in Indonesia. The Islamic curriculum is considered not yet fully adaptive to rapid and competitive changes of the times. This study aims to analyze the urgency of reconstructing the Islamic curriculum to remain relevant to contemporary needs without abandoning the roots of Islamic values. The method used is a systematic literature review with a content analysis approach applied to various policy documents, scholarly works, and related regulations. The results indicate that reconstruction of the Islamic curriculum must encompass digital literacy integration, strengthening of Islamic character, and a 21st-century competency-based approach. The study concludes that curriculum reconstruction does not mean abandoning Islamic scholarly traditions, but rather updating methods and approaches to holistically and sustainably address the challenges of the disruption era.
