Manuscript Requirements and Writing Guidelines

Bakti Masyarakat: Journal of Community Service and Empowerment accepts original articles resulting from community service activities that have not been previously published and are in line with the journal’s scope. Each submitted article must have a similarity index of no more than 20% based on plagiarism checking using Turnitin, which must be conducted before submission.

Manuscripts must be written using Times New Roman font, size 12 pt for the main text, and 10 pt for footnotes and references. The line spacing should be 1.5, except for quotations longer than 40 words which should use single spacing. Document margins are set at 2.5 cm on all sides, with the manuscript length ranging between 5,000–7,000 words.

Article titles should be no more than 15 words and must reflect the content and focus of the community service activity. Each article must be accompanied by an abstract in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, each consisting of 150–250 words, along with 3–5 keywords relevant to the topic of service or empowerment.

The manuscript should follow a systematic structure, starting with an Introduction that explains the background and urgency of the activity, followed by a Literature Review discussing relevant theories and previous service efforts, Implementation Methodology that outlines the approach, location, and stages of the activity, Results and Discussion which presents the outcomes, evaluations, and analysis, and ends with a Conclusion that summarizes the findings and provides recommendations for future program development.

References must be written in APA 7th Edition format, with the majority sourced from SINTA-accredited journals, national proceedings, or official institutional reports, particularly those published in the last five years. The peer-review process involves at least two expert reviewers using a double-blind review system within 4–8 weeks to ensure the quality and relevance of the program.

Submitted articles must be original works, demonstrate a clear methodology, and offer a tangible contribution to community empowerment. Authors must follow the provided template and submit their manuscripts through the journal's online system. All accepted articles will be published in open access format to maximize dissemination and impact.

As part of its future vision, Bakti Masyarakat is committed to strengthening partnerships with universities, NGOs, and both local and international development organizations. The journal will also expand its publication scope to include review articles, innovative empowerment models, and current analyses of community development policies. This strategic step aims to establish Bakti Masyarakat as a leading reference in research-based community service and empowerment.
